  Saudi Arabia

NYT -- Saudi Arabian Men Go to the Polls in First National Elections: "RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Feb. 10 - The voters came - princes and the impoverished, young and old, the highly educated and the illiterate - casting their ballots today in the initial stage of the kingdom's first nationwide elections.

Women were barred and widespread apathy during the December registration period meant that just 149,000 eligible voters out of almost 600,000 in the capital district were on the rolls."

PBS is airing a Frontline documentary this week, "The House of Saud." There is a 7 minute excerpt from the program here.

Cox & Forkum created a new editorial cartoon and blogged on Saudi Arabia a couple days ago. Check it out here.
